Square dance caller and coach
About me
I’m Philipp Aff. I live in Hüffelsheim near Bad Kreuznach, teach classes and call programs from Mainstream to C2.
How I got started
I first tried calling in 1998, while I was taking my own square dance class. After graduating, I started calling occasional tips with the Red Rock Hoppers.
I’ve been a regular club caller since 2007. I teach classes and call at specials and jamborees across Europe, with programs from Mainstream to C2.

How I work
Working as a group
I enjoy seeing a group listen to the calls and make the calls work together.
Learning a new program
I teach dancers at different stages, from their first classes to more demanding programs.
Working with callers
I’m a CALLERLAB Accredited Caller Coach. I mentor other callers and give seminars at ECTA Conventions.
My work with ECTA and CALLERLAB
I am a member of ECTA and CALLERLAB. I served as ECTA Secretary from 2007 to 2013 and have been ECTA Square Dance Coordinator since 2024.
I also call at corporate events, weddings and birthday parties.
